Dear Parents/Carers,

Re: Welcome to the New Academic Year – Important Updates

I hope this message finds you well. Now that we are two weeks into the new academic year, I wanted to express how wonderful it has been to see your children back in school, engaged and eager to learn. Watching them reconnect with their peers and immerse themselves in their school life has been rewarding for all of us.

As we move forward, I would like to remind everyone about the importance of maintaining our standards in both attendance and uniform. These are not just school policies but essential life skills that help prepare our pupils for their future beyond school. Good attendance cultivates a sense of responsibility and commitment—key traits they will need as they move into post-16 education, training providers, or the workplace.

Wearing the correct uniform and taking pride in their appearance helps pupils develop a sense of self discipline and self respect, which are crucial for successful integration into wider society and the workplace. Uniform expectations are clearly outlined on our school website here https://eddiversity.com/information/uniform If you are struggling to get a uniform for your child, please do not hesitate to talk with us, we will listen to you and assist in removing barriers where possible. These expectations support our goal of helping each child grow into confident, capable young adults.

Additionally, I am delighted to introduce some new permanent staff members who have joined us this year and are already making a positive impact:

  • Amy Heard- Special Educational Needs Coordinator
  • Georgina McNamara- KS3 teacher at Pegasus site

As well as new staff, we have changes in leadership, with Simon Coulter taking on the role as Lead Teacher of Athena.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything further, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a productive and nurturing environment for your children.

Yours sincerely,

Vic O’Farrell

Headteacher
