Educational Diversity
Working Together for the Future of Blackpool’s Young People
Who we are
Educational Diversity is Blackpool’s Pupil Referral Unit and Alternative Provision, supporting young people aged 5 to 16 who are unable to access mainstream education due to social, emotional, behavioural or medical needs.
Across our two sites, Pegasus (Bathurst Avenue) and Athena (Whitegate Drive), we provide a safe, nurturing, and ambitious learning environment. Our dedicated team of professionals helps each young person rediscover their confidence, re-engage with learning and prepare for life beyond school.
Our mission is simple:
“To empower every young person to thrive and flourish.”
Why We Need You
Our young people are talented, creative and capable but they often lack the opportunities to experience real-world work and to see what success looks like beyond the classroom.
Local employers play a vital role in helping them:
-
See what’s possible through workplace visits, talks, or demonstrations
-
Gain hands-on experience through work tasters, placements or volunteering
-
Build aspirations by connecting learning to real careers and skills
-
Grow in confidence by meeting positive role models who believe in them
When local businesses invest in our young people, they help build a stronger, more skilled, more resilient Blackpool.
Ways to Get Involved
-
Host a workplace visit or tour
-
Offer a short work placement or job shadowing opportunity
-
Come in to deliver a careers talk or skills workshop
-

-
Help us shape our curriculum links to industry needs
Even a small contribution can make a big difference.
