Monday 17th July 2023

Dear parents and carers,

The last time I wrote to you was to explain that we had an OFSTED inspection on Monday and Tuesday last week.  Whilst I cannot tell you the actual outcome of the inspection until the inspection report has been published, what I can tell you is that I am the very proud and happy headteacher of Educational Diversity.  Staff and students pulled together to show the inspectors the strengths of our provision, and it was noted that we create a highly positive environment where children flourish.

I can assure you that we will continue to drive improvements and ‘reach for the stars’ for our young people. Our key areas of focus will continue to be:

  1. Embedding a highly effective phonics programme, so that our younger learners can improve their reading and literacy skills.

  2. Embedding a high quality curriculum across the whole school. Ensuring that all our learners have access to the very best teaching and learning experiences.

  3. Improving individual student attendance.

  4. Embedding Zones of Regulation to encourage our students to co-regulate and then, self-regulate their behaviours.

  5. Developing our curriculum further to offer quality enrichment activities.

We finish this term and the academic year on Thursday 20th of July.  Students will leave school at 1:30pm.  If you collect your child at the end of school, please be aware of this early closure.

We will welcome back our students after the summer holidays on Tuesday 5th September.  Students should arrive at the normal start time in the full school uniform Educational Diversity uniform

I wish you and your families a safe summer holiday.  Please check our text messages, school website and Facebook page for updates during the holiday period.

With kind regards,

Victoria O’Farrell
